Materials Choices of Orthotic Insole
There are many materials that can be used to fabricate custom foot orthotics. In this article we discuss some of the options available including thermoplastics,polymer materials, coating materials, etc… We also take a look at some top cover choices such as Plastazote, EVA, Spenco, and leather.
Polymer Material
- Plastic: polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), PVC, polystyrene (PS), Polyurethane (PU), polyamide (PA), polyformaldehyde (POM), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), Polycarbonate (PC), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), etc.
